About Luna Art Studio

The Luna Art Studio team at an opening event

Luna Art Studio was born from a desire to create a space where artists can be seen, heard, and celebrated, particularly voices that have too often been underrepresented in Lusaka's vibrant art scene. Alongside its support for emerging talent, Luna Art Studio brings together established artists, creating a bridge between artistic communities and the wider public. In doing so, it offers a space for dialogue, discovery, and connection through art.

A carefully considered selection of works is brought together in response to the vision of our curator. These works invite visitors to pause, look closer, and engage with the stories, ideas, and perspectives held within them. The artworks are also available for purchase, offering the opportunity to carry a part of this experience home with you.

May this exploration open your eyes, spark your curiosity, and deepen your appreciation for the art that surrounds you — and perhaps inspire you to take a piece of it with you.

With gratitude,
Luna Art Studio

Our Founder & Curator

Liseth Luna, Founder and Curator

Liseth Luna is a Peruvian-born multidisciplinary artist, educator, curator, and cultural activist based in Lusaka. Educated in both Fine Arts and International Studies, her practice moves across sculpture, poetry, movement, participatory art, and fine arts, using creativity as a powerful language for dignity, education, inclusion, and social change.

As Founder and Curator of Luna Gallery, she creates spaces where artists and communities can meet, be represented, and cross cultural boundaries. Her work is rooted in the belief that art must not remain exclusive, but should open doors for dialogue, learning, and transformation.

Luna's community-based practice brings urgent attention to gender-based violence, women's empowerment, dignity, and the transformative power of education. Through workshops, exhibitions, school visits, public conversations, and collaborative projects, she creates thoughtful spaces where women, children, and underrepresented communities can be seen, heard, and valued.

Her work in Guinea with people with albinism reflects her commitment to visibility, inclusion, and respect. By using art as a tool for awareness and representation, Luna challenges discrimination and invites audiences to rethink perceptions of identity, humanity, and the African continent.

Through exhibitions and cultural projects in Peru, Finland, and beyond, Luna promotes artists beyond geographical limits. Her work carries the belief that creativity can cross borders, connect local stories with global audiences, and build bridges between cultures.

In Lusaka, Luna Gallery brings together emerging and established artists while welcoming the wider public into spaces often perceived as exclusive. Through inclusive programming and educational outreach, Luna encourages children, families, and new audiences to experience original art and understand its value within their own communities.

"Art is not only something to observe; it is a space where communities can meet, heal, learn, and imagine a more equal future."

Across her practice, Liseth Luna positions art as a bridge between communities, a voice for marginalized groups, and a force for transformation. Her work continues to amplify artists, empower women, defend dignity, and affirm that education and creativity can open new futures.
